Chinese officials tour port of Tyne

Officials from China’sGuangxi Zhuang province visited the Port of Tyne on 29 July as part of a three week visit to Newcastle. The delegates, who included 21 executive directors and business leaders also went to Newcastle University and a number of regional manufacturing businesses to explore strategies to connect land and sea trade routes.

The port’s chief operating officer,  Steven Harrison, said: ” They were interested to learn more about the Port of Tyne’s infrastructure developments and access to world-wide markets”.

The visitors toured the Port’s Tyne Dock Estate and visited the recently completed Riverside Quay extension and its car terminals.
