CLdN launches Ireland lo lo routes

CLdN has launched two new lo lo services between Rotterdam and Ireland with two chartered two 962teu vessels operating between its recently acquired Distriport terminal in Rotterdam and Dublin and Cork.

The two additional weekly lo lo sailings complement three existing ro ro services each week to and from Dublin.

CLdN has increased its presence on the Irish trades since starting its first service to the country in 1999, and increased its Dublin terminal area by 3.5 hectares in December 2023.

With 500,000 cargo units a year, it says it is the largest mover of ferry freight between Ireland and mainland Europe and Great Britain.

CLdN also operates 11 weekly ro ro sailings between Heysham and Warrenpoint in Northern Ireland.

Chief executive Florent Maes, said: “The addition of these services is a direct benefit of the recent Distriport acquisition and an example of CLdN’s ability to find innovative and timely solutions for its customers.”
