Fifth of trucks turned away from Holyhead

[ January 12, 2021   //   ]

The Welsh Government ssays that around 20% of HGVs had been turned away from Holyhead port since 1 January because they did not have the correct paperwork. With an increase in freight traffic expected, more could be turned away while forecasts from the UK Government have predicted between 40% and 70% of hauliers could be turned away from ports.

Hauliers without the correct paperwork will be redirected along a contraflow on the A55 to be stacked while they sort their paperwork or be redirected to an emergency truck park.
