Gebrüder Weiss to take over Rhenus Bulgaria

[ June 1, 2021   //   ]

Austrian forwarder Gebrüder Weiss is to acquire the business of Rhenus Bulgaria, subject to approval by the antitrust authorities. Rhenus has been a long-standing partner of Gebrüder Weiss in many countries and is now withdrawing from the Bulgarian market in the road segment.
It says that acquiring the customers and employees of Rhenus Bulgaria will double the size of its operation in the country.
Rhenus has been operating in Bulgaria for many years from locations in the capital, Sofia and branches in Plovdiv and in the port of Varna on the Black Sea
Gebrüder Weiss has locations in Sofia (Elin Pelin) and Varna, and plans to enter the home delivery segment.
