More boxes to clear the backlog

Hapag-Lloyd has ordered another 75,000teu of dry containers from a manufacturer in China, due to be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2021. The line has ordered a total of 625,000teu since the beginning of 2020. It said that due to massive congestion at ports, terminals and inland operations worldwide, it needed 20% more boxes to move the same amount of cargo compared with before the crisis.
