Saudi Arabian Logistics to run customs zones

[ September 11, 2020   //   ]

Saudi Arabian Airlines’ Saudi Arabian Logistics ground handling arm has officially taken over the running of customs security areas at most of the Kingdom’s airports.

Saudi Customs vice-governor Suleiman bin Abdullah Al-Tuwaijri and SAL deputy chief business development and corporate relations officer Abdulrahman Ma’en Al-Mubarak signed the agreement at the Saudi Customs headquarters in Riyadh in the presence of Saudi Customs governor Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Alhakbani and SAL chief executive Omar Hariri.

SAL has assumed control following its successful operation of the customs security areas at King Khalid International Airport, Riyadh in December 2019. Saudi Customs will continue to deliver customs, security and supervision services but the new procedure is expected to reduce the time of import operations and improve efficiency in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which aims to turn the country into an international leading logistic hub.
