Tirol truck ban angers IRU

The International Road Transport Union has condemned a truck ban imposed by the Tirol region of Austria which it says is a “totally unacceptable restriction on the free movement of goods.” The ban will affect trucks over 7.5 tonnes on a section of the A12 motorway in the Inn valley from July 2018 and, says, IRU os the Tirol’s third attempt to introduce such a measure. It says that the European Court of Justice has already stated twice before that the measure would not comply with EU law.
