Eurotunnel got the green light on 7 November from the French Competition Authority for its plan to buy three vessels from bankrupt SeaFrance and operate them as an independent brand, MyFerryLink. However, the tunnel operator still needs a decision from the UK Competition Authorities, who are concerned about a reduction in customer choice on the Channel. Nevertheless, Eurotunnel said: “We think that this a positive step in the right direction.”
